Data Protection
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This page explains your rights and how we keep your data safe. What we collect and why is described in our Privacy Policy.
Who is responsible
Language Talents ([legal company name and registered address]) is the data controller for the personal data described in our Privacy Policy. Contact: contact@languagetalents.com
Your rights
Under data protection law, including the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your data (the right to be forgotten).
- Restrict how we use your data in certain cases.
- Receive your data in a common format (data portability).
- Object to uses that are based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect what we did before.
- Complain to your national data protection authority.
How to use your rights
- Job seekers can open My account to see and change their profile, replace their resume or cover letter, and delete their account. Deleting your account removes your profile, resume, cover letter and the list of jobs you applied for.
- Employers can open My account to change their company details or delete their account.
- For anything else, such as a copy of your data, write to contact@languagetalents.com from the email address of your account. We may ask you to confirm who you are. We answer within one month.
How we protect your data
- The Site is served over an encrypted connection (https).
- Passwords are stored in a scrambled form, never as plain text.
- Resumes and cover letters are stored in a private area with random file names. Only the administrator and approved employer members can download them.
- The Resume Database is open only to employers we have approved after payment. We can close access at any time.
- Logins are protected against repeated guessing, and forms are protected against attacks from other websites.
- Only authorised administrators can reach the database and the uploaded files.
- We keep backups of our data and keep the system up to date.
Employers who receive candidate data
Members who open the Resume Database become responsible for the data they receive. They may use it only to recruit for their own roles, must keep it secure, must not pass it on, and must delete it when they no longer need it. A candidate who asks us to delete their data can also ask the member to do the same.
If something goes wrong
If a personal data breach puts your rights at risk, we will report it to the authorities and tell the people affected, as the law requires.
